Field Operations
Raw products from wellheads may be crude oil, with associated gas, water, and sand, or simply raw non-associated natural gas. The field operations cover the processing steps the raw wellhead product undergoes prior to entering the gas plant.
Acid Gas Removal
The acid gas removal process is also known as gas sweetening, as it involves the removal of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide that make the gas ‘sour’.
Gas Dehydration
The gas exiting the acid gas removal unit enters a gas dehydration unit, where any remaining water molecules are removed.
Hydrocarbon Recovery
After the water and acid gas has been removed from the feed, the Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) are recovered due to their high value.
Trace Component Removal & Recovery
The nitrogen rejection unit serves to remove the inert nitrogen gas mainly to improve the quality of the natural gas product.
